Puxi Campus G7 | Career day

On December 14th, 2023, during the afternoon YD session, the Grade 7 students had the privilege of inviting two of the class’s parents to deliver a fascinating career lecture. Hailing from two different industries, these two parent guests came to the campus and shared their own career stories with the students, showing them job content and career development picture of AI (artificial intelligence) IC (integrated circuit) designers and the fashion industry respectively.

First, 7(7) Lucas's dad introduced the basic concepts and applications of AI, the design principles of AI IC, and the usual work of AI IC designers to the students. He piqued their interests by outlining interesting aspects of this career by sharing his own personal experiences. If a student wants to become an excellent AI IC designer, how should they plan for it? Lucas's father also provided a lot of advice on this point, such as which courses to focus on from secondary school to university level, and how to improve their professional skills after entering the workplace. The parent encouraged students to pursue their dreams and mentioned that AI technology will have a far-reaching impact in various industries in the future, providing a broad space for everyone to develop.

What kind of creation is there in the field of fashion? What is editorial power? 7(4) Jun's father brought a unique fashion show. By showing his own design works, he shared his design inspiration and creation process with the students, telling them that fashion design requires a keen observation of fashion trends and a unique aesthetic vision. Jun’s father likened fashion design to writing; they are both created in order to be understood. He emphasized the importance of creation and creativity in the field of fashion, and encouraged everyone to use their imagination and express their creativity through a multitude of mediums, such as painting and handicrafts. Many students became interested in the fashion industry after the parents' sharing.

The Career Day lecture provided an invaluable opportunity for grade 7 students to get up close and personal with professionals from different fields and learn about their career experiences and journies. After the event, the students not only gained a deeper understanding of AI IC design and fashion creation, but also developed a passion for technology and art in their hearts. We hope to continue receiving parents from different fields to participate in the school's Career Day lectures in the future to provide more diversified career choices and inspiration.
