SHSID Early Application Results

As of December 19th, the SHSID senior Class of 2024 has received over 150 offers, including both conditional and unconditional offers, from different universities in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Canada and other countries and/or regions. The early application results can be summarized in brief as follows:

This year, a notable number of students applied during the early application phase to top liberal arts colleges in the United States, with significantly more applicants than in previous years. Some of these students have been successfully admitted to Swarthmore, Wellesley, Pomona, Claremont McKenna, and others. Notably, one of the two students admitted to Pomona College is well-known among the school community as “the Prince of Opera" at SHSID.

Students passionate about different forms of art have been admitted to leading professional art schools in the United States, such as the Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the School of Visual Arts, California College of the Arts, etc.

Several top-tier schools, including the University of Chicago, Rice University, Georgetown University, Emory University, and New York University, have issued multiple acceptance letters. Among the three students admitted to Emory University, one of them stood out as the "Dance King" at the 30th-anniversary celebration of SHSID.

Acceptance letters have been received from two Ivy League institutions, Brown University and Dartmouth College, and two top 10 universities, Duke University and Northwestern University, ranked by the most recent U.S. News & World Report best National University ranking.

As for the U.K. admissions, over 30 students from our school completed their interviews with the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. The final results are expected to be announced gradually in January. Additionally, many students have received conditional or unconditional acceptance letters from prestigious institutions such as Imperial College London, University College London, the University of Edinburgh, the University of St. Andrews, and King's College London, etc.

Many students have received conditional or unconditional offers from the University of Sydney, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc.

During the early application stage, SHSID students have already received scholarships totaling over 1,000,000 US dollars.

Congratulations to all the students who have received admissions results during the early application stage. For those who have not yet received acceptance letters from their dream schools, please do not be discouraged. Find a balance between studying, resting, engaging in activities, and applying for colleges. Adjust your mindset and believe in yourselves during moments of life's challenges. Strive hard and leave with no regrets.

Life involves sometimes moving forward and sometimes waiting. When moving forward, we are progressing; when waiting, we are growing.
