Grade 10: Assembly—Interests Exploration

December 18, 2023

On December 13, the teachers and students of tenth grade gathered again at Lecture Hall to attend the weekly Wednesday Assembly as winter crept into the campus of SHSID.

This time, Tina from Class 11 shared her expansive interests and hobbies. She first shared her experience in hosting, emphasizing the importance of actively participating in activities and ample preparation before the hosting event. Tina is also interested in extracurricular skills like dancing and drama, and she actively performed in events such as the Art Festival and Shanghai Campus Interest Day to display her hobbies. Academically, Tina is interested in biology, as she constantly seeks to participate in competitions to hone her skills. Having said this, Tina believed that only hobbies that one is sure to have a steadfast interest in are worthy to be pursued. This does not, however, mean that tenth graders should not explore for interests, as the likes and dislikes of a high-schooler are only the tip of the iceberg of what one is capable of, and only continual pursuit of new interests can help one learn more about oneself.
