Pudong Campus G4 | A Visit to Snow Dragon 2
On October 19th, our 4th Grade students from Pudong Campus finally arrived at the wharf by the sea. The Snow Dragon 2 crossed the river, elegant and beautiful, half snow-white and half scarlet. Excitedly, we jostled and clamored as we climbed a set of stairs to our first stop, the main deck. The main deck was at the back of the ship, large and painted a beautiful crimson red. We took in the breathtaking view of the sea. The sky was grayish blue, as sunlight glistened and danced upon the water. On the main deck, we observed a moon pool, that is used for collecting and observing seawater from different levels in the polar regions.
Then, we entered the ship. After passing a fully equipped drawing room and a gym, we climbed a set of steep steps to reach the steering cabin. It was full of high-tech computers, control buttons, displays and a tall captain's cockpit. The students took turns sitting in the driver's seat and imagined themselves as the powerful "captain."
In the hallway, we saw pictures of the Snow Dragon 2 sailing on a blue sea and breaking through the Arctic ice. Last but not least, we went to the auditorium to watch a video of the ship’s last expedition to the Arctic.
This trip was really a great one! Science has no limits. We hope the Snow Dragon 2 can ride the waves on the next voyage!
