Pudong Campus G1-3 | Sports Carnival

October 13, 2023

After weeks of training and preparation, the sports meet that the students were looking forward to finally started.

At 1 p.m., enthusiastic students from each grade entered the venue with neat steps and passionate music. When both parents and students sat down, the opening ceremony officially began. First, Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary school, delivered a speech to the sports meet, announcing the official start. Then, Mr. Wu Xiaodong, Director of Pudong Campus, delivered a speech. He encouraged everyone to enhance their teamwork skills and enjoy the fun brought by sports. Subsequently, Lambert, a student representative from Grade 5, spoke on behalf of him. He shared the joy and change brought by sports, and encouraged all students and peers to find their favorite sports like him.

After the excellent speeches, the students’ cheerleading performance brought the atmosphere of the opening ceremony to a climax. The music was lively and lovely, and the students were so full of energy that every guest felt the children’s high enthusiasm. The martial arts exercises of students in grade 4 and 5 were full of vitality, showcasing the style of senior students.

As the host, Mr. Snyder, announced the start of various competitions, the students took turns experiencing a variety of sports games in different areas. These included the Long Jump, Basketball Toss, Kangaroo Jump, Dribble competition, and “crossing the river by stepping on stones.” Unfazed, the children wove through the obstacles so quickly that the camera could barely keep up with them.

A variety of child-parent sports were also played. The children and their parents cooperated very well, chasing one other, challenging one another, encouraging one another, and achieving fantastic results. The parents-involved competitions not only showcased the sports style, but also showed a strong sense of kinship.

The next relay competition tested students’ teamwork and adaptability. This relay activity for G1-G3 had set up some interesting hints, and students needed to cross the obstacles and give high fives to their teammates to achieve victory in the shortest time group.

Although the happy games have ended, the love of sports, spirit of hard work and teamwork, motivation to never give up and striving for excellence have been deeply rooted in the hearts of every child.
