Puxi Campus G8 | Time management and Self-care
During Youth Development (YD) class on October 7th, grade 8 students and teachers arrived at Zhentao Building’s B1 lecture hall to listen to a time management presentation made by Ms. Sun.
As the students enter the first semester of 8th grade, they are facing a myriad of changes. As they gear up to take subject assignments, projects, and extracurricular activities head-on, the students are increasingly realizing the importance of time management. In fact, a lot of them find themselves in urgent need of such advice. The first period of YD class was designed to help them become more effective independent learners. Students attending the lecture certainly gained much more insight on how they could balance their daily tasks effectively with time management.
During the presentation, Ms. Sun engaged the students in warm-up activities to help them understand the importance of time management and introduced the concept at an appropriate time. Through an animated video, she highlighted a fundamental yet often overlooked technique of time management - the necessity of making to-do lists. Using interactive activities, Ms. Sun prompted the students to reflect on setting priorities for their goals and how to manage time and organize tasks. During the question-and-answer session, students enthusiastically raised their hands to participate in discussions.
By implementing the useful methods that Ms. Sun taught us, students will be able to achieve their goals and strive for maximized achievement and success.

During the second period of Youth Development class on October 7th, Under the guidance of teachers, grade 8 students discussed how to balance academics and personal life while learning to care for themselves.
The beginning of 8th grade marks the start of an increasingly busy schedule. Given such circumstances, the students felt the need for an experienced adult to give them insight on what to do. Grade 8 teachers noticed this troubling issue and immediately scheduled a lecture to help students alleviate their stress. The teachers taught various stress-relieving tips that students found useful to implement in their daily lives.
Students are eager to learn some much-needed advice on time balancing and its effect on mental health. Homeroom teachers thoroughly explained various important topics, mentioning the importance of balancing between life and study and helping other students cope with their struggles. Including how to discover signs of overloaded , who to talk to when stressed, and how conversation is important to relieving mental pressure.
During the class, teachers engaged students effectively by using captivating videos and unique activities to help them understand the importance of balancing study, family and work. During the discussion session, students exchanged effective time management methods and willingly shared their experiences of coping with stress. This YD lesson allowed students to open up, learn to express themselves, and acquire essential self-care tools for their mental well-being.
