Puxi Campus | G6-8 Sports Carnival
With the theme of "Strive, Thrive, Achieve, Celebrate SHSID 30 Years Anniversary", the Sports Carnival of SHSID Middle and Primary School represents the fortitude of the individual and collective spirit. The essential ability to come together and work in cohesive class teams is embodied through the three key words: striving, achieving and realizing. These three words exemplify the individual and collective spirit of striving, the collaborative ability to unite the class team, and a positive, happy and healthy lifestyle. Through the careful design and arrangement of traditional and modern athletic programs, it adds an unforgettable memory to the 30th anniversary celebration activities of the SHSID.
At 12:30 pm on October 10th, the auditorium was filled with cheerful music and smiling faces, as teachers and students eagerly awaited to the opening of the carnival. Guests at the opening ceremony included Ms. Zhang Zehong, Secretary General of the SHS, Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, and other school leaders and representatives, who cheered proudly for all the teachers and students participating in the Sports Carnival.
After the opening video played, student athlete representative, Thomas from class 8-7, and Vice Principal of Middle and Primary School section, Mr. Shen Tianyuan, made inspiring speeches, expressing the hope that students will enjoy the sports week, work hard and grow up together. Afterwards, the energetic cheerleading performance brought a wonderful visual feast for teachers and students.
One of the highlights of the carnival was the traditional Chinese sports activities. Whether it was hopscotch or kettle throwing, the children had a great time. Meanwhile, a cultural exhibition of alley games was also displayed in B1 of Zhongxing Building. The children were able to experience sports and gain rich cultural knowledge at the same time.
There were three forms of group events in the carnival, and students from all sections participated in the obstacle course running group event. The sixth and eighth graders participated in the "Racing Caterpillar". The team members rode on an air model "caterpillar" and worked together to improve their performance. The 7th grade team event was "The Invincible Wind Turbine". Students formed teams, worked side by side, and alternated between starting and turning back. The most exciting part was the relay program, which was tense and tested the unity of the students.
In the individual competitions, especially in various ball games, students actively challenged themselves and won a burst of cheers from the sidelines.
The Sports Carnival aims to create a good atmosphere for students to play sports happily, while encouraging them to be united and enterprising. Ultimately, the carnival will remain an unforgettable memory of their growth, and an experience to look back upon fondly.
