The Middle and Primary School Section Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of SHSID
Puxi Camous G1-3
Time flies, and Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) has turned 30.
Early in the morning, students of Puxi Campus G1-3 held a grand 30th-anniversary celebration in the Primary Section Auditorium. As we stepped into the hall, the screen displayed an array of artworks celebrating 30 years.
The celebration ceremony officially commenced. The ceremony began with a heartfelt promotional video titled "Love for SHSID," performed by the teachers. They described SHSID from their perspectives, shared their beautiful memories of the school, and conveyed birthday wishes for SHSID's 30th year in various languages.
Following that, Ms. Zhang Yi, Director of SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 1-3, tested the children's knowledge about SHSID with 8 questions. Each question prompted a sea of eager hands raised high. All of them knew SHSID's full name, the names and locations of various teaching buildings, their favorite activities, and their love for the school very well.
Next, Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School,Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School and Ms. Miao Xiaoling, Assistant Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School attended the ceremony,Mr. Liu and Ms. Miao delivered speeches at two separate celebrations. The lucky draw segment elevated the atmosphere of the entire celebration. Children celebrating their birthdays on September 28th and those selected by the lucky draw were invited on stage for a group photo. The principal lit candles in the shape of “30,” and everyone sang the birthday song, filling the venue with hopes and love for SHSID.
In addition to the ceremony, we all watched a promotional video about the school, gaining a deeper understanding of its history, present, and future. All students also wrote cards with the phrase "I love SHSID because _____" to express their reasons for loving the school. The school also prepared special 30th-anniversary mooncakes. It's a wonderful coincidence that the school anniversary, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day all coincide.
Each grade enjoyed a variety of colorful celebration activities. The first graders, led by their teachers, embarked on a campus tour. The distinctive architecture on campus filled them with anticipation for their future learning life. The second graders participated in an exciting orienteering adventure. Students, organized into groups, used campus coordinate maps provided by their teachers to locate various landmarks on campus. They carefully planned their routes, celebrated finding the landmarks, cheered for overcoming challenges, and took photos in front of each landmark as keepsakes. The third graders, on the other hand, created birthday cards for the school's anniversary. They adorned the cards with their skillful hands and wrote sincere wishes one by one.
The 1-3 graders at SHSID are like little siblings within the big SHSID family, cared for by everyone as if they were older brothers and sisters. This love allows them to grow joyfully on this land. Their love for the school is the life force that keeps this land fertile. We sincerely wish SHSID a happy birthday and a future filled with more glory!
Puxi Campus G4-5
Shanghai High School International Division welcomes its 30th anniversary celebration. At this memorable moment, 4-5 graders at Puxi Campus have planned a series of meaningful celebration activities.

These multilingual blessings weave a warm and harmonious picture, demonstrating the diversity and inclusivity of SHSID and reflecting the school’s international perspective and cultural heritage in the context of globalization. Additionally, students have created wonderful artworks themed around the thirtieth anniversary during their art classes, embodying their best wishes for their school.
The school has prepared special 30th anniversary mooncakes for each student since the 30th anniversary meets Mid-Autumn Festival. This gift is not only a traditional festival present but also a special treat symbolizing a sense of honor and belonging, Moreover, the students received mini potted plants, each carrying various beautiful meanings like thriving towards the sun and boundless good luck… These vibrant plants mirror the students’infinite future potential.
Around 9:30, Mr. Liu Lian Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, Ms. Lu Luting, Director of SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 4-5, and student representatives gathered for a grand cake-cutting ceremony. Everyone sang the "Happy Birthday Song" together to celebrate this anniversary.
Grade 4 designed a special worksheet with the theme of "What will I be like when I am thirty," encouraging them to ponder the meaning of their own individual growth. The G5 students chose their "Best of SHSID", recalling memorable past moments. The students also decorated the corridors with sticky notes with their imagination to create a celebratory atmosphere…
We all believe that, with the joint efforts of teachers and students, SHSID will continue to write brilliant chapters in the future and cultivate more independent, globally-minded future stars.
Pudong Campus
On this special day, September 28, 2023, Shanghai High School International Division celebrated its exciting 30th anniversary! To commemorate this day, the Pudong Campus of Shanghai High School International Division organized a series of spectacular events.
Students from grades one to five gathered in the auditorium at 9 o'clock in the morning to celebrate the anniversary. Under the guidance of Mr. Wu Xiaodong, Director of SHSID Pudong Campus, we watched a video showcasing the school's history and reminisced about countless beautiful moments in our school's development. Next came the thrilling lucky draw, where teachers drew a student from each class to share their fond memories of the school, adding to the joyful memories of the celebration. Students celebrating their birthdays this week were also invited on stage to cut a large anniversary cake. This cake, symbolizing our school's unity and friendship, will become an everlasting memory.
The anniversary meets the Mid-Autumn Festival coincidentally. After this collective celebration, everyone enjoyed specially designed mooncakes featuring the school's emblem. Each grade also had its own activities. First-grade students created crowns to symbolize a fresh start in the 30th anniversary year of SHSID. Second and third-grade students participated in a prize quiz, learning about the school's history and characteristics while using LEGO blocks to create a future vision of the new campus, showcasing their imagination and teamwork. Fourth-grade students recorded blessings for the anniversary and made QR codes to put on the posters. Fifth-grade students wrote letters to students who will be here 10 years from now, and it will be unsealed after 10 years.
The anniversary was not only a look back at the school's 30 years, but also a grand event where we united our strengths and looked forward to the future. May our school become better and better!
Lin'gang Campus
On September 28, 2023, under the warm embrace of autumn, Shanghai High School International Division celebrated its 30th anniversary. The festivities took place on the banks of Dishui Lake, where teachers and students came together to mark this joyful milestone.
This year signifies our 30th anniversary — a span of 30 years filled with experiences and growth, spanning from the youthful days of spring to the matured moments of winter.
As you step onto the campus, the first thing that captures your attention is the expansive corridor. Inside the art class, children used their colored pencils to create a jigsaw puzzle. The colors and shapes on the puzzles blended seamlessly, forming a colossal heart that conveyed the sentiment, "I love SHSID." This warm stream of affection saturated every corner of the school building.
The paintings serve as not only a display of the students' creativity but also an expression of their love for the school, adding an artistic touch to the entire festival.
The highlight of the school festival was a mesmerizing artistic feast. Ruth from class 3-1 performed a ballet titled "Cupid," exhibiting a light and graceful performance reminiscent of a falling butterfly. Janie from class 2-1 presented a spirited and vibrant Latin dance, her steps resembling leaping flames. Kenneth of class 3-2 gave an amazing flute performance of "Serenade," while Charlotte Z of class 2-2 performed a captivating violin solo, "Mazurka," both enchanting the audience. Katherine of class 1-2 delivered a powerful rendition of the song "Courageous Outburst," akin to a clarion call. The chorus of "Book Buddies" by Davis from class 1-1 and his brother James was akin to warm autumn sunshine, pushing the ceremony to another climactic moment. Finally, a three-tier celebration cake was slowly brought forward, symbolizing unity — a group of children, a celebration, a slice of cake, and an ocean of laughter!
Today, Lin'’gang Campus is vibrant with laughter — a fertile soil for nurturing seedlings, an oasis of vitality, and an ocean of joy! Thirty years is not just a duration. Instead, it's a comma, indicating a renewal of infinite possibilities and a radiant beginning!
Hongkou Campus

The ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech from the host. First, Ms. Zhu Dan, Director of SHSID Hongkou Campus
, asked some Fun Facts about SHSID. The children were eager to participate, and they shared their own knowledge about SHSID.
