Lin'gang Campus: Kayaking Kicks off!
The sky was cloudy, and the autumn weather was gentle. The lake of Lin'gang Campus rippled, and brightly colored kayaks drew a beautiful landscape of campus life in September. Relying on the unique advantages of the water field, the aquatic sports courses have been launched for Grade 2 and Grade 3 in Lin'gang Campus. Since this week, children from four classes went kayaking in turn, and the opening of the special sports courses has given the colorful campus an expanded vitality and excitement.
Kayaking is easy to learn and offers the perfect blend of fun and skill. But how to enjoy the sport in a safe manner? As early as the beginning of the school year, the PE teachers and coaches brought an unforgettable "water safety class." In the classroom, the students learned about the development of kayaking, and had a more intuitive and deeper understanding of the wearing of life jackets, paddle posture, drowning prevention tips, and other safety knowledge. After the coaches' careful demonstration and patient guidance, the children all understood the essentials of the correct paddling method, which injected more confidence and expectation for their first kayaking experience.
"Sun hat, buoyant sunglasses, quick- drying clothes, sneakers ..." The young members of Lin'gang Campus checked one by one through the list. They were all ready, and couldn't wait to start the prelude of aquatic sports with paddles in hand.
"Put on your life jackets and grab your paddles, we'll get in the water !" The children took their first steps very carefully, and in spite of nervousness, they were still brave as they slowly used their paddles to ply the water to propel themselves forward. Some students were afraid of falling into the water when they first got into the kayaks, but they were able to paddle independently in the water over a good distance after one lesson. Some students mastered the key points of the skills in a short time, and enjoyed the speed and fun of breaking through the waves. The colorful kayaks gently floated in the clear lake, and the children's faces were full of confident smiles.
"My favorite class is the kayaking!" The children cheered. "Aquatic Sports in School" has let the children enhance sports skills, develop courage and confidence, and fully embrace the charm of sports. The kayaking class added a unique color to sports curriculum development in Lin'gang Campus.
