Grades 11-12: Poster Evaluation
Strip away the old scraps on classroom felt boards, for it’s time to sport a new look to properly welcome the new 2023-24 school year. On Friday, September 15, our dedicated media group members snapped some pictures to appreciate some wonderful poser designs. Here are a few of the selected ones:
11(5) used colorful yarn to spell out geometric shapes and physic formulas, striking a balance between hard and (wooly) soft science. What an inspiring academic message!
11(6) used cute letter cut-outs and paper collages to create a magnificent and symbolic scene of a ship setting sail. Paired with the vintage wall cloth, the entire work suggests a call to adventure.
11(10) decided to go sentimental by filling the entire wall with photos—snapshots of precious memories, youth, and nature.
11(9)'s was all about weaving, intersecting, and connecting. This back-wall webbed with starry constellations reminds us of how infinitely small but interconnected we are.
12(10)’s had a gentle breeze, grass fields, sailor uniforms, and paper planes. All these elements combine to complete an idyllic and somewhat wistful reflection of senior year. 12(7)’s bold gradients tinted the sky’s fluffy clouds, forming a perfect bed for Bugs Bunny to lie on. Bugs almost seems to be winking at us, as if to say, “Remember to relax and have some fun!”
12(9)’s was a complete compilation of cutouts, Genshin characters, sketches, and banners showcasing a busy but diverse class! 12(6)’s was a stunningly beautiful art piece with a balloon-tied house reminiscent of Disney/Pixar’s Up, but this time under the backdrop of a burning Shanghai sunset.
12(5)’s pulled at the heartstrings by heart-shaped picture collages recalling childhood pictures all the way back from 2012 to recent group photos of students. What a loving community!
12(2) utilized the many shades of blue and nautical elements to create an adventurous yet serene scene.
12(3) impressed us with yet another ship at sea awaiting for the tides to carry it into the unknown.
Above are only some of the works from our wonderful poster competition. Thanks to all the students for their hard work on the posters. And now, our final winners are: 11(1), 11(9), 11(3), 11(10), 12(2), 12(4), 12(5), 12(6), and 12(10) who all took home first place. Congratulations to these 9 homerooms! Thus concludes our poster competition, but our journey of the new semester has only just started. We wish that you all keep the passion alive, overcome any obstacles you may come across, and enjoy the time of studying.
