Grade 10: Back to School Parents' Meeting

On the evening of September 14, the 10th Grade Parents' Meeting of SHSID was successfully held. The purpose of this meeting was to help parents understand more about their students' curriculum, and to discuss their children's growth and development in the future.

The meeting was divided into two halves. The first half of the meeting was held in the Auditorium of Xianmian Building. This session was hosted by Ms. Yu Zhen, the Grade 10 Head Teacher, and she expressed a warm welcome to all parents. The first lecture was given by Principal Ma Feng of the SHSID High School, he comprehensively introduced to parents the school's faculty, application results, student development as well as the supporting resources from school. Principal Ma also put forward higher expectations for students based on his overseas visiting experience, hoping that with the joint efforts of students, parents, and the school, every student can truly realize well-rounded development. Dr. Jiang Hao, the Coordinator of the IB and AP curricula, explained SHSID's diverse curriculum system. Dr. Jiang pointed out that each program has its own unique advantages, and when choosing a program, students should consider it according to their own interests, abilities, and plans for future development. Then, Ms. Cui Mengdi, the Director of the College Counseling Office, went on to introduce the school's counseling resources and the efficient platform for integrating information, as all of these will help the students realize their dreams. Mr. Adam Nikolich concluded the session by introducing the high school's Creative Courses, a series of student-oriented courses that helps students explore themselves and understand the world more deeply.

In the second half of the meeting, parents were guided by student volunteers into the different classrooms to learn about various subject courses in detial. The subject teachers explained the courses that the school has provided for the students, and answered the parents' concerns patiently.

This Parents' Meeting provided a closer link between parents and the school, and it is believed that with the joint efforts of the school and the family, the children will make greater progress in their future development.
