Grades 11-12: Club Fair
On September 7, the G11-12 club fair was hosted during the lunch period outside of the Xianmian Building. As soon as the lunch period began, students could be seen busily carrying desks and chairs from the school building as they prepared their club stands, excited to introduce their clubs to other students. Soon enough, the scene was packed with people, and students all around were enjoying themselves.
The club fair encompassed a variety of clubs, from those that focused on preparation for academic competitions, notably the BPC Club and the Physics Competition Club, to those that were based more on individual interests or related to global issues. Each club presented a unique stand—some were handing out their club flyers with detailed descriptions, while others had prepared entertaining activities for people to participate in. At the Linguistics Club stand, students could be seen attempting to write sentences in foreign languages. Other clubs prepared interesting polls and simulations of the club’s activities. The Chess Club students had stationed a chess board on their stand, and the club’s members played against the students stopping by, giving them first-hand experience of their club. Souvenirs, ranging from original bookmarks to foreign language postcards, were also given to students, providing a precious memory of the joyful times spent at the fair.

The club fair provided a valuable opportunity for clubs to recruit new members for the new school year and allowed students to explore all the different clubs in our school. The diversity of clubs and the club members’ dedication to the fair had put on full display the liveliness of school spirit and the wide range of interests of the SHSID students.
