A Summer of Triumphs for the Music Teaching and Research Group

During the scorching summer of 2023, the music department of the SHSID achieved outstanding results in various competitions.

From July 17th to 22nd, our international children's choir traveled to Chengjiang, Yunnan to participate in the 9th China Children's Chorus Festival. This was the first time in the history of the International Division that such young students had gone on a long-distance trip as a group, and it was also the first time that our children's choir had participated in a national-level choral competition. In the end, they won the first-place silver award in the primary school group.

Our SPDC Pop Dance Club production "See you again" won the Grand Prize in the Junior Division of the 2023 Peach Lee Cup Dance Arts Showcase Competition.

Our mixed choir won a silver medal in the Yangtze River Delta A Cappella Music Competition, as well as second prize in the Shanghai Experimental Demonstration High School Youth Singing Contest. Participating works: students' original choral works, "Dragon Gate - Seemingly Flowing Years" and "If Tomorrow is the Next Lifetime".

Our String Orchestra participated in the Shanghai Xuhui District Outstanding Club Performance and the Shanghai Student Symphony League Performance on June 29, 2023, and July 8, 2023, respectively, both of which won second prizes, generating enthusiastic social reactions and expert evaluations.

These awards and honors are a recognition of the artistic talents and artistic qualities of SHSID students. We sincerely thank all the teachers for their hard work, and we are even more grateful to the teaching and research team and parents for their strong support of the activities. We will continue to work hard and go to the next level.
