Grades 9-10: 2023 Summer Bash

June 6, 2023

On Friday, June 2, students from 9th to 12th grade enjoyed an afternoon of fun at Summer Bash. The ASB had spent a busy week preparing for this huge summer-themed party, which would also be the last event of the school year, making sure it would be a blast.

Many students came and competed against their friends in games that had been set up on one side of the grass field, such as Twister, Water Pong, Water Balloon Tic-Tac-Toe, and Friend Drench. Losers were faced with watery punishments, which added a dash of summer fun. On the other side of the field was the activity that was most popular by far – the water fight. Students hurled water balloons at each other with gusto and rushed to fill their water guns, drenching anyone that happened to be in the way. Screams of surprise and shrill laughter could be heard from all around, and not an inch of clothing was left dry.

An outdoor drink stand with Coke had been prepared for guests to refresh themselves after the excitement, and inside the Zhentao Building a dining area had been set up. There was also a variety of indoor activities that students could try, such as board games, piñatas, and a scavenger hunt.

Near the end of the event, all guests were called upon to vote for ASB members to face the ice-bucket challenge. Members with the highest votes were each ceremoniously dumped with a bucket of ice water by their peers while a laughing crowd looked on. The ASB were thanked for their hard work throughout Summer Bash and all previous events, and with that, the party drew to a satisfying close.
