G6 | Talent Show
The southern breeze brushed through spring and invited summer to come, and the early summer sun was warm and bright. On the afternoon of June 1, the G6 students at Shanghai High School International Division gathered in the auditorium for a long-awaited moment — the Talent Show!
A month ago, many students actively participated in the talent show auditions. In order to present the most wonderful show to everyone, each selected performer rehearsed diligently, polished carefully and presented a splendid audio-visual feast.
The talent show was lit up by a pop dance performance of 'Sneakers' by 6(5) Joylin, 6(6) Leiyi and Heidi. Afterwards, the pop dance performances of 'Step on up' by 6(9) Lea, Catherine and 'Attention' by 6(5) Yuki, 6(6) Delilah, Heidi and 6(11) Jacqueline were presented to the audience. 6(4) Isabella Ho's ballet performance 'Giselle' and 6(8) Elaine and Grace's Chinese dance 'Butterfly Fragrance' transported us into a world of elegance, with the girls' beautiful dance moves demonstrating their deep understanding of the music. 6(10) Joyce's Rhythmic Gymnastics performance was also breath-taking, as she cleverly used a combination of a scarf and ball to showcase the ultimate in coordination and flexibility.
The singing programme was equally exciting, with 6(8) Emma and 6(6) Delilah presenting the popular songs 'Giant' and 'Call me maybe' respectively. 6(10) Chloe chose the theme song of the Little Mermaid movie 'Part of your world'. With their clear and infectious voices, they sang about their desire for a better world, enchanting the students and making them feel like they were in a sea of art.
Next, Angelina from class 6(8) performed Over the Bars, a piano piece. As the notes flowed from her fingertips, it was as if a wonderful story was being told. Isabel from class 6(5) performed “Black Cat Sheriff", a piano piece with a relaxed and dynamic style, and the familiar melody immediately evoked the students' memories. Aryana from class 6(10) played a traditional Chinese instrument, the pipa, and her skilful performance of the piece made everyone feel the charm of Chinese classical music.
The atmosphere of the talent show reached its peak when the teachers performed two songs. The cheers of the students nearly lifted the roof of the auditorium as they appeared one after another to the accompaniment. The teachers expressed their love and expectations for the students with their songs and dances. After the song, the students on stage responded with enthusiastic and fierce applause.
The students showed their unlimited potential and extraordinary abilities on the stage of the talent show, lighting up the way to the future with the light of their talents and bringing more laughter to the campus. We would like to thank every student who performed and the G6 teachers for their hard work and preparation. We hope that the students will continue their love and pursuit of the arts in the years to come! Happy Children’s Day to everyone!
