Music Department: The String Concert Was Successfully Held
On the afternoon of May 31st,the ‘String Ensemble Concert’ of the Shanghai High School Student Performance Season was successfully held at the Drama Hall of the Music Center. The performers were made up of over 80 students in grades 1-11 of the International Division, and their performances covered various arrangements such as ensemble, solo, and quintet. The performance repertoire spans Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modernist periods. The concert slowly unfolded in Mozart's ‘Symphony No. 40’ first movement, with a packed audience. The audience experienced the performer's delicate and subtle emotional expression through the exquisite solo technique, felt the nobility and elegance of chamber music in the tacit cooperation of the ensemble, experienced the passionate grandeur in the neat and uniform pace of the big ensemble, especially the successful performance of two extremely difficult works by String Ensemble A, Tchaikovsky's ‘Serenade for Strings’ and Grieg's ‘Holburg Suite’, which won sustained applause and heartfelt praise from the live audience.
Parents have expressed that they did not realize that their children have such great potential for playing, and seeing their children's performance makes them feel excited and proud. The high-level performance of the concert witnessed the growth of the string ensemble, which is a leap forward for both students and the orchestra!
