G7 | Planting the Seeds of Dreams — Service-Learning Project Reflection Meeting
In May, the seventh and eighth graders gathered for a service-learning reflection. In the past year, the 8th graders expressed their concern and thinking of the world through various service-learning activities. Grade 8's service learning was a “colorful” activity. This included “self-created” public accounts and publishing hot articles, translation agency reading activities, medical science popularization projects, charity sales and donations, attention to left-behind children, charity concerts, etc. Each project started from global hot issues, covering cultural communication, life and health, social hot issues and other directions. The end-of-project reflection allowed students to summarize the gains and losses in the project, summarize the experience, and fully prepare for the next project.
In this conference, not only the eighth graders benefited a lot, but also the seventh-grade students. They were also inspired and motivated. Grade 7 students learned how to create projects and express practical ideas. More attention has also been paid to social hot issues. After the conference, the News Group interviewed some students, some of whom expressed their desire to create their own projects, and some of whom made suggestions for existing projects. Through this meaningful activity, the students' leadership, insight into world issues, as well as overall practical ability were greatly improved.
