Chinese Traditional Tie-Dye Activity for High School Students

Chinese tie-dye is a traditional textile dyeing technique that has been practiced for centuries. The earliest known examples of Chinese tie-dye date back to the Shang dynasty (1600-1046 BCE), and the art form has continued to evolve and develop over the years.

During the month of May , students from SHSID performed tie-dye under the instruction of their chemistry teachers. The teachers provided the students with all the necessary material, including cloth and dyes. The students were then free to create their own unique tie-dye designs. The event was a great success and the students had a lot of fun. They were able to express their creativity and create some truly beautiful works of art.
