High School Creative Writing Program Is Thriving!

Starting in 2015, the Creative Writing Program is designed to give students the opportunity to express their creativity through English writing in a supportive environment. The Advanced Creative Writing course was added to Grade 12 school courses in 2022. Through a combined academic studio approach, the courses challenge students to create exciting works of art while enhancing their understanding of the craft of fiction. This year, the creative writing program is thriving!

Mr. Mahaffey gives guidance to the students

Not only did our school have two Grade 11 students who won First Place in the poetry and non-fiction categories at the Hong Kong Young Writer Awards, but we also published a book of short stories and poetry written by fifteen contributing authors and compiled by the Grade 12 Advanced Creative Writing Class students and teachers.
