G7 YD: Exercise Rotations
This Thursday’s YD class focused on the science of movement. Students took turns going from homeroom to homeroom to engage in different exercises such as lower body movement, cardio, yoga, stretching, and breathing exercises. These separate stations were supervised by different teachers, introducing students to many members of faculty. And although the stations had started out comparatively relaxed, at the end of the period, several students were worn out and breathless.
This YD period highlighted the importance of health and fitness, especially as students nowadays are so preoccupied with their studies and their electronics. Overall, it was a fun and engaging experience, with activities such as the plank exercise bringing out students’ competitive spirit and sense of community. Beyond being about fitness and exercise, the event was also a bonding experience for classmates.
