Information Session of the University of Chicago Held at SHSID

On April 25, 2023, the Director of International Admissions, Ms. Michelle Trimpe, from the University of Chicago (UChicago), visited Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) to give an information session about the university. Students and parents from all over Shanghai with a deep interest in UChicago came together at the grand auditorium at SHSID to participate in the session, which provided them with a great opportunity to interact with the admissions officer in person and ask the questions that they might have had.

Ms. Trimpe first gave a splendid presentation on the lasting history of UChicago and the renowned alumni who have graduated from the school. She also described the wide span of activities within UChicago, such as the scavenger hunt and the house system, which greatly enriched the extracurricular lives of students on campus. Students and parents came up with multiple excellent questions to which Ms. Trimpe answered in detail. They described this information session as a fruitful opportunity to learn more about UChicago.

This event was successfully completed with the assistance from student volunteers. SHSID appreciates Ms. Trimpe’s visit to the school as well as her engaging speech, and we look forward to further interactions between the University of Chicago and SHSID students in the future.
