Grade 9: Peer-Advisor Review
On Wednesday afternoon, the 12th of April, the Peer Advisor (PA) department hosted their midterm review session in the CAS classes. The midterm review sessions aimed to aid students with their review for the upcoming midterms. The review materials were reviewed and confirmed by the subject team leader and the teacher advisor in charge to provide students with plans for their review.
This year, the PA department decided to separate the given time into 3 sessions, allowing students to listen to a greater variety of subjects. All the student tutors involved had put in considerable effort into their tutoring sessions, reviewing as much as possible and creating PPTs and scripts entirely by themselves. Two to three students had formed a teaching group for each subject. They worked together to complete the teaching plans and PPT, and then completed two to three tutorials, respectively. This has greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of the students on a larger scale. At the same time, the relaxation room on the 3rd floor was opened for students who have emotional tension during the review period. The counselor there gave advice on relaxing and relieving stress.
The PA review sessions benefited all students, by providing the tutoring students with an opportunity to share knowledge, practice public speaking, and serve the community, while also providing the other students with an opportunity to study and prepare for the midterms during school hours and ask any unresolved questions.
With this PA review session, we hope that all the students’ mastery of knowledge has been further consolidated and their determination to help others has been strengthened.
