Puxi G3: Chinese Class Activity — Making a "Flower Clock"

April 13, 2023

"Flowers are blooming, competing for splendor, they are fragrant and charming." Last week, the third grade students in Puxi Campus studied the Chinese article "Flower Clock" during the class. They learned that flowers have acquired a magical "skill" in the process of continuous evolution, that is, different flowers have different "work and rest time", which can be called the "time master" of nature. In the Chinese class this Monday, the students were eager to try and make a "flower clock" by themselves.

In the text, there are petunias that blow their purple trumpets at 4:00 a.m., noon flowers that open at 12:00 p.m., and blossoms that "appear with a smile" at about 9:00 p.m. ... Students recorded each of these flowers at the corresponding time and sketched out their delicate appearance with a paintbrush.

Based on the content of the text, the students further explored and continued to collect information on various flowers blooming at different times. Finally, after fully polishing off their works, colorful "flower clocks" appeared on the paper, and the little artists showed smiles blooming like flowers.
