Grade 8: “The BEDDS Film Festival”

March 31, 2023

Do you still remember the movie trailer PBA from last semester? Well, we finally got to watch them! On March 30, a ceremonious event, the BEDDS film festival, was hosted in the XM auditorium.

The groups of grade 8 students showed off their exciting movie trailers to the rest of the grade. After choosing the best videos in their English classes, the students then presented the best production of their class to go on to the final round. This English PBA comprehensively shows the creativity, critical thinking ability and expression of eighth-grade students. Students picked their favorite dystopian short stories like “The Red Card”, “‘Repent Harlequin!’ said the Ticktockman”, “The Lottery”, “The Pedestrian”, and many more. Then, the students worked from creating the storyboard, to writing the script, to filming, to editing, and finally to the display on the big screen!

Every student threw in a large amount of time and effort to complete this process. All of their hard work was transformed into many amazing trailers that thrilled the audience. As they presented their excellent films, the judges in the audience picked films to win awards such as Best Editing, Best Actors/Actresses, Best Director, and Best Picture.

Congratulations to all the winners for producing such amazing films! Looking forward to the next film festival!
