Lingang G2 Chinese: Searching for the Messages of Spring

March 7, 2023

The sun is shining and spring has arrived. On March 6th, the second-grade children of Lingang went out of their classrooms to look for spring in the campus during Chinese class.

The children felt the beauty of the early spring through their senses of listening, looking, smelling, and touching. The grass just bursting out of the soil, the flowers gradually peeking out, the birds singing among the branches, as well as the ducks in the spring river were all recorded and depicted in the students' drawings. "Ms. Zhang, look, this flower bud seems to have just opened its eyes!" "The spring breeze is walking over your head!" "The warm sunlight on the surface of the lake is called sparkling!" Students jumped and searched around the campus, sharing the messages of spring they found with each other. The joy of early spring was not only hidden in the flowers and trees, but also shown in the smiling faces of every child.

"Taking learning out of the textbook and out of the classroom" is also a goal of the second-grade team at Lingang Campus this semester. We hope that by looking out the window and breaking the limits of time and space, children will slowly realize that learning can happen anywhere at any time, and that they will naturally become sustainable lifelong learners.
