Grade 11 Assembly: Better Tea App by 11th Graders
On Thursday, March 2, the assembly started with the presentation about a mini program called “Better Tea” created by a group of students: Sophia, Serena, Max, and CiCi. The purpose of this student-designed program was to record the consumption of sugar, provide a correct view of sugar, understand more about the consequences and benefits of sugar, and balance sugar intake and use of sugar through sports activities. The design of the mini program was rather simple, which assists users in navigating through the program. There are many functions to this extraordinary program. Through this program, students can record sugar intake, log sports activities, check the balance in their diet, and read about the science behind sugar. The most special aspect of this program is that it includes specific calories of various drinks, such as boba tea, something students particularly enjoy drinking.
Better Tea is a meaningful program in the aspect that it is customized to student life at SHSID, and that students themselves are looking out for the health of other students in an attempt to make the SHSID community a better place.
