Grade 11: Poster Competition

March 3, 2023

As our juniors and seniors embrace a start to the second, and for some, final semester of the schoolyear in February of 2023, our lovely students gathered together to decorate the rear-walled felt boards in their homerooms for the new semester. Each class surprised us with unique poster designs. Although varying in mediums, materials, and art styles, they are all full of creativity. These posters not only bring us a warm welcome with a personal touch, but they also document years of friendship and persistence at SHSID. As they say, we should cherish the past, live for today, and hope for the future.

During the lunch period on February 27th, junior class representatives were sent to appreciate and rank each class poster. As the raters ambled through the hallways with pen and paper in hand, our media group photographers recorded the process.

Selected G11 posters:

11(1): These adorable childhood photos take us back in time to the carefree days—a cute reminder to stay young at heart!

11(5): With vintage letter cutouts that spell a wonky “To the Future,” a chalkboard full of encouragement notes, and a beige world map not yet full of pins, Class 5 reminds us of the journey ahead that is waiting for all of us to set foot on.

11(2): Bubbly fonts surrounded by heartfelt quotes and overrated memes give us a positive mood when having classes for the new semester.

11(10): A beautifully-drawn, stretched out summer-by-the-ocean poster calls for the arrival of summer!

Above are only some of the works from our wonderful poster competition. Thanks goes out to all the students for their hard work on posters. And now, our final winners are 11(7) in first place, 11(9) & 11(10) in second place, 11(3), 11(4), 11(6), and 11(8) in third place, and 11(2) and 11(5) in fourth place! Congratulations! Thus concludes our poster competition, but our journey of the new semester has just started. We wish that all keep the passion, overcome any encounters you may come across, and enjoy the time of studying.
