Puxi Campus G4: Chinese Myths Project

January 3, 2023

Myths explain the world and nature from the eye of our ancestors. There are lots of similarities between eastern and western myths. For example, all the cultures have myths explaining the origin of the world and human beings, stories with the theme of flood, wars, heroes, and innovations, etc.

After reading a few Chinese myths, the fourth-grade students at Puxi campus also started to explore western myths. They compared the genesis mythology and sun myths between Polynesia and China, focusing on the similarities and differences among the plot, characters’ personality, as well as cultural background.

Other students chose to write a story on a unique day with their favorite character from Chinese mythology. In the stories, students showed their great imagination with interesting plots, bringing readers into fantastic worlds.
