December 14, 2022

In the morning of December 14, Mr. Joshua Pickart and his Grade 10 students gave a lively and interesting open class. Mr. Pickart introduced the supply and demand relationship and the production chain during the Industrial Revolution, using the example of the "hat making industry". Then he had students work in groups to simulate the production of hats in two ways - in a way of family handicraft workshop, or cottage system before the Industrial Revolution and in a way of factory mechanical assembly line developed during the Industrial Revolution. The whole lesson concluded with students analyzing the results brought by different production efficiency. Through this experience students understood the great changes the manufacturing industry had undergone during the Industrial Revolution.
