Middle School Section: A World of Dreams -- Music Concert Flashmob of Art Festival
On the afternoon of December 8th, teams of music-loving students gathered for a flashmob in the atrium of Zhongxing Building, to create an exciting start for the upcoming art festival. They used their musical talents and enthusiasm to dispel the cold and to warm the hearts of the audience.
The flashmob performances were led by Isabel from 6(1). In her spare time, she rehearsed the piece, Scherzo composed by Daniel van Gones. In order to bring this fantastic performance in front of everyone, she put in great effort the past three weeks to present a beautiful cello solo. As the music of the cello faded, Alex from 6(4) began his piece, Csárdás on the violin. From the selection of the song to the performance, every moment demonstrated his professionalism in music and his attitude towards excellence.
After enjoying two solo pieces, Sammi from 6(12) and Eunice from 6(9) performed a flute duo together. This time, the song they prepared was the theme song of Miyazaki’s Anime, Witch House Express -- Alternate Four Seasons. The closing instrumental performance was the piano piece brought by Ingemar from 7(10), who decided to bring us the Beethoven Virus. As the keys of the piano were pressed down, the music echoed in the midday atrium, intoxicating everyone.
Next, the students brought three well-known English songs. Jenny H from Class 8 (13) began her solo English song, Runaway by Sasha Alex Sloan. Ina, Anna, and Jenny from Class 8 (6) picked Price Tag, adding another cheerful touch to the flashmob series. The next track was Taylor Swift's song Blank Space brought by Vania and Leticia of 8(1). Every word in their songs was full of enthusiasm and power.
The final appearance was the song, Danny Boy, presented by a chorus organized by eight students from the seventh grade. Their combination perfectly utilized the advantages of the group, creating a beautiful chorus together. From their cooperation, it was not difficult to see their practice and hard work these past three weeks.
The flashmob series ended with cheers and applause from the audience. It was one of the best rewards for all their preparation during the past few weeks. The flame of music and art is always burning, bringing us warmth and joy. Let's once again dedicate our applause to these stars who stand on the stage, and at the same time wish everyone to do what they like and spread happiness!
