High School Chinese Department: Mr. Gu Gang Gave 10th Grade Students a Lecture

On November 24, the department invited the poet, Mr. Gu Gang from China Normal University Press to give a wonderful lecture entitled "Xu Guangqi and Shanghai History" to the 10th grade students. Mr. GuGang, who was born in Shanghai, deeply loves this land and studied this city with great enthusiasm; he also hoped that his sharing will help more people to understand the past and present of this city.

For most of the students, they lived in Shanghai, but rarely think about the historical details of this city. While in the lecture, Mr. Gu presented students to a wealth of information about Shanghai. He talked about the origin of the place name, the changes in administrative regions, and the former residences of many celebrities. Of course, Xu Guangqi's life in Shanghai and his influence on Shanghai and even the whole China were the focus of this lecture.

Mr. Gu's lecture was simple and comprehensive. All attendants were deeply influenced by it.
