Grade 11: Assembly - An Appeal for Tennis
In the second week of November, a group of avid tennis lovers took the G11 assembly stage, sharing their excitement for their student-organized tennis club and passion for tennis. Brought to the audience by juniors Clelia, Alan, Anda, and Frederick, the tennis club promotional speech called out to tennis amateurs and sports lovers in the student body, urging them to join this tennis community.
In conjunction with the club promotion, the speakers also made a special reminder (a small shoutout) of the upcoming SHSID Team Tennis Cup, filling everyone in on the Cup raffle rewards, prizes, and unique team/game/advancing rules.
After delivering these notices, the speakers proceeded to an extended discussion on the benefits of playing tennis. The bold speakers were up for a 10-minute convincing session of “6 Reasons Why You Should Play Tennis.” Their PPT, simplistic and concise, was made up of amusing visuals and pithy statements; their speech, informative and entertaining, had Alan and Anda speak with candid passion and persuasion. Anda's profound sharing of "ways to find the best-fit tennis racquet model" and fun facts on the tennis phenomenon Nadal truly spoke of his deep knowledge of tennis. The speech ended with a montage of live, 2-vs.-2 tennis playing of the speakers, capturing the energy and action of an actual tennis match. And so, as the assembly ended by reiterating the theme of how valuable tennis is, the ending montage also boded for the excitement of the upcoming school tennis cup.
