Grade 9: Freshman Project Introduction & PA Review

In the afternoon of October 26, the Week-9 CAS was held for the Grade-9 Students.

Students first arrived at the lecture hall of Zhentao Building, listening to the introduction of the Freshman Project from Ms. Chen Lin from the TA Office. Ms. Chen first discussed the projects that students will complete over the next four years before introducing the freshman project, "Who Are We at SHSID?" This project, a group project that lasts four months, gives students the opportunity to get to know one another better, explore their interests, and become familiar with the various resources the school offers. By working together to complete the project as a team, students can learn about a variety of things they can do that will assist them in becoming contributing members of their communities and society as a whole. After the introduction, students were very much excited for the Freshman Project, and were very much enthusiastic to experience the project.

The "PA Review" session, which covers Chinese, Math, English, Chemistry, Physics, History, IT, and Biology, was then provided to the 9th graders by the PA (Peer Advisor) Group. The PA Group conducts a review session for students regularly with the goal of helping them have a deeper understanding of the subject to thus perform better. Every subject was prepared with much effort, in case of any mis-information or lack of detail. Through excellent tutoring and incredibly prepared keynotes, there was little question that the students felt more confident going into class after this study/review session.
