Lingang Campus: The First-ever Immersive Experience at the Sports Carnival with Puxi Campus

The school sports carnival has returned with more vigor and vitality this year! In order to promote diverse sporting experiences for our students in Lingang, enrich their campus life beyond classrooms, and strengthen inter-campus communication, connection as well as co-cultivation, all children from Lingang campus embarked on a half-day trip to join a tailor-made sporting event with Puxi campus.

This was their first visit to Puxi campus together. Students were all looking excited and curious as they landed and looked at the picturesque campus. Rows of verdant sequoias, towering school buildings, bright and smiling faces altogether were sending a warm welcome to all visitors and opening the first page of this featured event.

NO.1 Welcome Ceremony at Zhongxing Building

Firstly, all students and teachers assembled in the theater room of the Zhongxing Building for a brief but meaningful welcome ceremony. Mr. Liu Lian, SHSID middle and primary school principal, and Ms. Fu Bing, Director of Lingang Campus, spoke their messages to all students. Mr. Liu extended a warm welcome to everyone. He sincerely hoped that the students would enjoy experiencing different sports and feel the warmth and positivity of the SHSID family, and also encouraged them to fully engage in the trip. Ms. Fu introduced the arrangement of the carnival activities and revealed the theme of this sports week in Lingang Campus -- “One Team, One Dream”, wishing that the children could showcase their talents in sports, and build up confidence and dreams towards sports and the future.

NO.2 Sports Rotation Stations

After the welcome ceremony, the much-anticipated carnival activities kicked off officially. This event included four fun sports features: the ice rink, laser shooting, inflatable games, and a fun turtle relay. Under the guidance of homeroom teachers and PE teachers, all classes arrived at their respective venues in an orderly manner and rotated according to the activity schedule.

The first-timer experience brought all students excitement and nervousness. With the help of professional teachers, the children had a close look at the ice rink. Some even put on protective equipment and moved forward carefully, step by step. The crystalline ice surface like a mirror reflected the smiling faces, and many skaters’ dreams. The "little shooters" in the next arena were also ready and waiting to go. They were holding laser pistols and aiming, each body straight up, eyes focused on the target, seemingly showing the true nature of little heroes. The laser target shooting experience made the children realize that shooting sports were not only the combination of a few simple movements, but also the embodiment of thoughtfulness, concentration and calmness. The tennis court was also filled with endless laughter! The fun turtle relay was in full swing. Everyone cooperated, jumped and ran as a whole turtle! Nearly two hours of activities allowed all children to try different sports equipment, but also brought everyone brand-new sports experiences.

NO.3 Campus Tour

The carnival experience was nearing its end, and the children were immersed in the fun and enjoying the exertion. Afterwards, they had a walk and quick tour around the campus. The vibrant school students, the stone brick paths through the greenery and the birds singing between the branches were all vivid and beautiful pictures deeply etched in their minds and hearts. At the end of the event, everyone went to the cafeteria in turn for lunch and took a group photo on the campus. The half-day trip to SHSID Puxi campus came to a successful end, and the picture of the trip materialized, depicting figures in the sports hall and their bright and beautiful futures.
