Grade 11: 3 V 3 Basketball Game
With Sports Week approaching in early October, and with our school's attached importance to sports and health, the 11th graders took the lead in a 3 vs. 3 basketball game at the end of September to kick off SHSID's 2022 Sports Carnival. Basketball has always been popular among students, and this inter-class basketball game showed the athletic prowess of students and brought the classes closer together in friendship.
The competition system is as follows. Each class will send a basketball team, and the class will be decided by lottery. Every basketball player will fight for the honour of the class. Final: 11(2) to 11(7), 11(9) to 11(1), 11(8) to 11(6), 11(3) to 11(10), and 11(4) to 11( 5). The winner of the first round will advance to the second round.
On Wednesday, September 28, the high-profile basketball game is scheduled to take place on the outdoor basketball court. However, the long-awaited enthusiasm was shattered by an unexpected rain on Wednesday afternoon. But the weather improved the next day, and the basketball game started smoothly in the cool autumn wind.
The first round of the basketball tournament kicked off on the outdoor basketball court during lunch breaks on Thursday and Friday. Standing on the basketball court, everyone can feel the excitement of the game. The representatives of each class showed their talents on the court. We saw three-pointers, layups with superb control, and smooth assists. The athletes on the basketball court during the lunch break were sweating on the court, their classmates cheered for them on the sidelines, and teachers took photos of many significant moments. This event is like a carnival with boundless spirit.
The first day of the basketball game was 11(3) and 11(10), 11(4) and 11(5). The game was very intense, in which we saw a single person scoring more than half of the points, and the other two classes ended the game with a gap of one point. 11(10) and 11(5) win. The next day, three basketball games were played at the same time. The participating players were 11(1) and 11(9), 11(2) and 11(7), 11(6) and 11(8). The winners of the second day of the first round were 11(6), 11(7) and 11(9).
This basketball game not only promoted the unity of the class, and taught students cooperation, but also filled the entire campus with the vitality brought by sports. Physical activity is as important as academic achievements. As basketball tournaments flourish, we sincerely hope that every student at SHSID will enrich their high school life with exercise.
