Grade 6: Online Parents’ Meeting

On September 21st, SHSID G6 held the first online parents' meeting.

During the one-hour meeting, the teachers focused on the educational goal of "cultivating independent learners" and gave parents a detailed presentation on the curriculum, teaching programme as well as activities of the grade. The transition from primary school to middle school section means a change in the content and approach to learning for students. In response to the new changes in the new school year, teachers combined their teaching experience with interaction with parents to help students adapt to middle school life as soon as possible and to provide advice for children’s growth.

Afterwards, the homeroom teachers shared how to use the new system in order to enhance each parent's understanding of the school's work and their child's school situation, and to achieve the goal of raising children together with their families.

Next, homeroom teachers gave specific presentations on the key learning content, learning objectives and learning requirements for the five subjects of Mathematics, English, Chinese, Science and History. Through pictures, the rich resources were displayed to parents as well. With the support of quality teaching resources, the course content would be able to be introduced into the classroom in a lively and interesting way for students, helping them to combine what they had learned with real life and to enhance their subject literacy and comprehensive ability.

This online parents’ meeting has enhanced the consensus between parents and the school. We believe that in the coming time, parents and school can work together to build a stronger support for the children, so that students can meet the challenges with a more confident and positive attitude in the future!
