High School Physics Department: Combined Circuit for Open Class
On the morning of June 8, 2022, Ms. Xu Dan of high school Physics Department opened an online class with the theme of "combined circuit". The combined circuit is a difficult part of physics teaching in Grade 10 this semester, and it is also a hot topic closely related to our life. Therefore, this open class attracted many teachers, including teachers of other subjects, to come to listen to it.
Ms. Xu gave full play to the advantages of online teaching. First, she led the students to review the characteristics of series and parallel circuits by letting them write and draw freely on the whiteboard. Then, Ms. Xu gave three identical resistors and asked the students to discuss all possible connections and explore their equivalent resistance. Through online simulation in groups, the students quickly found the equivalent resistance under four connection modes, and found that two of the connection modes included both series and parallel circuits, that is, combined circuits. Under the guidance of Ms. Xu Dan, the students independently explored the method of finding the equivalent resistance, and gradually unlocked more complex combined circuits. In the last 10 minutes, Ms. Xu held an exciting online "who’s still standing" competition activity. Students should not only correctly analyze the connection mode of the circuit, but also solve the equivalent resistance in the shortest time. The activity not only pushed the atmosphere of the class to a climax again, but also made the students feel the fun of learning and the sense of achievement in the excitement.
The contents of this open class are detailed, the teaching methods are diverse, the students are deeply involved, and the teachers who listened to the class spoke highly of it. Online courses have brought many challenges to physics teaching. However, under the leadership of Mr. Xu Zhencheng, the head of the physics department, department teachers regularly discuss, brainstorm and adapt to current conditions to ensure that every physics class is as efficient and interesting as ever.
