June 1, 2022

In the last two lectures in May, the SHSID Linguistics Club invited two alumni to lead a virtual lecture on the topic of the “mysteries of classical languages”.

On May 8th, alumnus Rao, who is currently studying for a doctorate at the Catholic University of America, guided club members to explore the cultural background, characteristics, writing, grammar, and word-formation of the Semitic language family from scratch.

On May 31st, alumna Zhou, who has studied Classics and Linguistics at the University of Chicago, focused on the Indo-European language family to introduce the linguistic characteristics of Greek, Latin, Hittite, and Sanskrit.
