SHSID Students Won the First Prize in the Final Round of the National 3D Innovative Design Competition

Since the launch of the 14th National 3D Competition on Mar. 25, 2021, around 800 teams competed for the Dragon Tripod Prize through preliminaries, network auditions, and provincial contests. Under the guidance of Mr. He and the support of Mr. Liao, one group of Grade-11 students successfully entered the final round after half a year's preparation. Finally, they won the first prize in the finals in December.

The National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition, initiated by 3D Power in 2008, has been successfully held for 14 years. After 13 years of cultivation and development, the National 3D Competition has been officially included in the national university discipline evaluation system by the Ministry of Education.

The work "Folded Multifunctional Medical Operating Table", inspired by the Wenchuan earthquake, uses a folding way to reduce the area of the operating table so that it can be both portable and lightweight. Unlike surgical robots now used for precision surgery, such as the da Vinci robotic arm, this innovative robotic arm does not require a socket or external power source to work. The operating table is powered by an independent built-in battery compartment. If the robot arm runs out of power, it can be used manually, and the head of the robot arm can be replaced with different modules to meet different circumstances of operations in surgeries. This small operating table not only reflects students’ focus on functionality and practicality, but also reflects their concern for the society and strong sense of social responsibility. It is impressive that they can actively think in daily life and contribute their own strength in society.
