Grade 7: Independent Learning Experience Sharing and Final Review Game
In youth development class on Jan. 6, 7th-grade students shared their independent learning accomplishments and experiences this semester. They were people who moved up in different subjects or made athletics achievements… Some fulfilled their last goals, and then they shared their current plans. Setting goals will help people work actively towards it. Most students’ goals were to move up and then challenge themselves to a more advanced class to learn more challenging things. Many people think that moving up in a subject will impress their parents and be a big step in their academic life. Then the students shared their time management skills or how they will accomplish and succeed. Some students even made vlogs about their lives after school. They all had specific time schedules and to-do lists, such as when they rest and their homework at different times.
Students learned to never procrastinate from this class no matter how much time there is. They also learned that having a good sleep schedule is significant because students can focus in class and not feel sleepy. Eating a good breakfast and lunch is also important. When people are tired or hungry, they cannot concentrate properly and fail to understand any main concepts and important information the teacher discusses. The students’ key results are all numerated and executable. They are small goals with low expectations, so people can’t have reasons not to do it. Overall, the key results were all significant and pleasing.
Then the period ended, and following class, students all did the review game for the final exam. The last review was a purposeful lesson because the questions all focused on the essential concepts, and if the students didn’t know, they would go back home and review that specific knowledge. The homeroom teachers would ask students to go to the whiteboard to write the answer down. Then if they answered incorrectly, the teachers would try their best to explain what they did wrong and how to do the question.
In conclusion, two essential YD classes helped students learn about different ways to manage time and do a final review. I hope everybody gets their desired score on finals. Happy new year!
