Lingang Campus Grade 1: Becoming a HERO

Starting from grade one, all students at the Lingang campus began to have PG classes related to HERO character education. HERO is the acronym of Honesty/Encouragement/Respect/Organization. G1 teachers hope each kid could become a HERO of good virtues through a series of character education lessons.

Every three weeks, teachers would introduce a new keyword and reinforce students’ understanding of each character in many different ways. Every Friday, students would nominate whoever they think deserves the award and then vote for the HERO of each week. Over the whole term, we have witnessed better choices constantly made by students. We firmly believe that all children will become more respectful and responsible HEROES under the positive influence of character education.
