Pudong Campus Grade 1: The Magic “ChatterPix”!

December 31, 2021

This week, the first-grade students at the Pudong campus experienced an interesting IT class. The class combines an application named ChatterPix from iPad with math and requires the students to walk around the classroom to find geometric figures in real-life. Students used ChatterPix to take pictures of some real-life objects with the shape of the standard solid figures, such as cone, cube, rectangular prism, etc. They also used the app to record their voice and make the solid figures speak, such as: how many flat surfaces do I have, how many vertices do I have, how many sides do I have, and so on. In the end, the students showed the videos to the whole class. This interdisciplinary and engaging IT course helps students increase their IT knowledge and ability to use iPad and practice the mathematical knowledge they have learned before.
