Puxi Campus Grade 4: Math Speed Calculation Competition
Mathematics is an essential subject that accompanies every child’s learning and growth and plays a vital role in improving children’s arithmetic skills, stimulating their brains, and developing their logical thinking skills. On December 14, the 4th-grade math group had an exciting math speed calculation competition.
It is a comprehensive mathematical thinking activity that depends on both the children’s correctness and speed of calculations. It is also a reflection of the students’ ability to be sensitive, resourceful, quick, and not shy.
The competition required students of all grades to complete the required test questions within 30 minutes. The children were full of confidence and focused, more accurate, faster, more thinking, and more intelligent than each other, and every second counted. Although the questions were difficult, the students were very motivated to participate in the competition. They were very focused and concentrated as if they all wanted to be the best at speed calculations.
The competition further enabled the children to master the method of speed arithmetic and cultivate their calculation literacy of math. It enriched the children’s extracurricular life, aroused their interest in learning mathematics, and inspired them to apply mathematical knowledge in their daily lives.
