Pudong Campus Art Festival: Big Dream, Grand Stage

The breath of art has arrived silently along with the cold of winter. On the morning of December 21, teachers and students from SHSID Pudong Campus gathered in the Puxi auditorium to celebrate the long-awaited Art Festival. Mr. Liu Lian, SHSID middle and primary school principal, Ms. Liu Fang, middle and primary school vice principal, Ms. Miao Xiaoling, middle and primary school principal’ assistant, and Mr. Wu Xiaodong, director of Pudong Campus, watched the fantastic performances of Art Festival together with the students. Based on the pandemic prevention and control work, the school launched a live stream for parents to join virtually for this enjoyable celebration.

As our little hosts went up on the stage, the show officially started! After nearly two months of labor and effort, every class and student group showed their best performances, including dance, chorus, instrumental ensemble, crosstalk, etc., presenting a wonderful art feast for the audience.

On the colorful stage, some students dressed in beautiful costumes, introducing the audience to the gracefulness of waltz, the delicacy of ballet, and the vibrancy of hip-hop dance. Some played different instruments such as piano, violin, cello, and ukulele, leading the audience into a wonderful musical world. Some brought us melodious songs with their beautiful voice and sultry delivery as if they told the dreams growing in children’s hearts.

These wonderful moments captured great confidence and elegance in the students. Affected deeply by the enthusiasm, the foreign teachers of the Pudong Campus came on stage and sang a cheerful classic Christmas song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” for everyone, which pushed Art Festival to a climax!

Art Festival is a grand event for students to showcase their talents and potentials and a critical part of our school’s moral and aesthetic education. This year’s Art Festival featured students’ passion as “how big the heart is, how big the stage is.” We look forward to seeing every child stand out on the way to pursue their interests!
