Grade 9: Sharing Experience on Competitions

November 26, 2021

On the morning of November 23rd, Grade-9 students at SHSID gathered in the Zhentao Building Lecture Hall for the weekly assembly, where a student representative from class 9(4) shared her insights on different competition choices.

She specifically divided her presentation into three parts: competition choices, AMC, and IMMC. To start with, she provided some tips on how to choose the competitions suitable for oneself. She claimed that interest should be the number-one priority when considering joining different contests. Then, she targeted two specific competitions: AMC and IMMC. She provided not only an introduction to AMC, but also some tips of reviewing and past examples. IMMC, on the other hand, is a competition that requires teamwork and modeling skills. Both practicing previous examples and having diverse group members are good ways of preparing for this contest.

The presentation encouraged students to consider more competition choices and get to know different contests.
