Grade 10: Students' Sharing on Mental Health

November 12, 2021

On November 10th, the sophomores gathered together in the Zhentao lecture hall for their weekly morning assembly. This week, there were many school updates and promotions. Victoria talked about an upcoming PA roundtable talk that is happening this Friday. Meanwhile, Selena from Grade 12 told the tenth graders about the activities she participated in for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The assembly speaker for this week was Aine from 10th grade. Her topic of discussion was mental health and its implications in our daily lives. She began by introducing the basic information on depression, highlighting how it is a mental illness that is incredibly prevalent and often invisible in the world around us. Aine then gave students some tips and information about how to deal with depression. She reminded students to not blindly believe in online test results without a proper diagnosis. She introduced different self-rated anxiety scales people could use as well.

Overall, the lecture was very informative and helpful to all the Grade-10 students.
