Primary School Subjects Department: I’m an engineer—Paper Project

In the past weeks, first graders have been learning the steps of the design process. To help our students learn more about this, they recently completed their own design project idea and presented to the rest of theirclass in week 8.

The students got to choose between two problems: the strongest structure to hold the weight of a textbook or the tallest structure that is still safe. In addition to this, they were given the challenge of building this from only printer paper and clear tape.

The students showed great intuition and creativity in overcoming the challenges they faced. Everyone was able to improve upon their initial ideas and provide great solutions to the problems!

This is the first engineering project for our young engineers,andtheyare ready to continue their work!
