High School Sports Week Lunch-Time Carnival Day Three
On October 13th, high-school students gathered at the ZTB lobby to participate in a series of elaborately designed sports games. The activities have already been going on for three days, and, on each day, three different activities are brought forth by the ASB to alleviate the level of stress that students experience from schoolwork on a daily basis. Students from XMB flocked to ZTB to actively engage themselves in activities such as three-legged races, cup arrangements, badminton, and table tennis-related events.
While these games do not sound sophisticated at first glance, the difficulty of the challenges is advanced to higher levels as more students attend and break the records established by previous challengers. For example, the cup-arrangement challenge required students to organize the cups in a specific manner and put them back all within twelve seconds to win a prize. For the three-legged race, two students had to partner up as they had their feet tied together to run approximately twenty meters of distance – and this had to be done within thirty seconds in order for the participants to win a prize. The activities interrelated with badminton and table tennis required swift and nimble movement – in which participants had to bounce balls on either tennis or badminton rackets 80 times in one try only. These diversified sports challenges inspired interests in sports in students. By the end of the lunch break, students were given prizes for completing the challenges posed before they reluctantly left the area of joyousness and laughter. All now look forward to the opening of the Carnival on Thursday.
