U19 Girls' Volleyball Won Second Home Game Against KCIS
After defeating SUISWY in their season opener, the Stallions U19 Girls Volleyball secured their second win on Thursday, September 30th, against the KCIS Gators in two sets to zero, remaining undefeated.
The Stallions were strong on offense, with their well executed serves and hits making it difficult for KCIS to keep up. It took the Stallions a little adapting to find their rhythm, and although KCIS had some decent receiving, the Stallions overall cooperation and offense was more successful. A major tactical change that helped secure the victory was the addition of the libero, which is a player that only focuses mainly on defense, greatly improving the team's back row receiving and allowing hitters to focus on attacking. A powerful ace brought the first set to a close finishing off with a score of 25-16.
The second set was played by a new lineup, but the girls remained consistent in both defense and offense, easily receiving serves from KCIS and counterattacking. The 2nd set started with a few difficult rallies and a few miscommunications that caused some mistakes from the Stallions. However, after a few rallies, the Stallions got their rhythm back and managed to secure their second set with a score of 25-12.
The StallionsU19 Girls Volleyball are set to face off against GHCIS at home on October 18 and looking to pick up another win to build up momentum as the season continues.
