Middle School Section: ASB Elections
Since the second week of the new school year, the ASB campaign has been in full swing in the middle school. The Associated Student Body (ASB) is a group of student representatives who assist teachers in organizing activities and providing services for students. Due to the high level of commitment required for the position, ASB members should be responsible and dedicated students both inside and outside of the classroom. On the afternoon of Thursday, September 16th, in the youth development class, the ASB middle school campaign was carried out smoothly. The main question now on everyone’s mind is: who will become the new members of ASB?
Every candidate made a “personal introduction” poster which was put on the bulletin board. These posters were meant to be eye-catching to other students, so that they would stop and read the information in order to be more informed voters.
While sixth graders are the youngest of middle school, their performance and ability shouldn’t be overlooked. The videos made by this group, demonstrated their interests and specialties, as well as expressed why they wanted to join the ASB. They talked about their wishes and promises, and the atmosphere in every classroom was warm.
This year’s videos from the seventh grade are diverse and colorful. Many candidates try to persuade everyone to vote for them in the form of words and pictures, some candidates use humor to win the students’votes and others made interesting animations for the campaign. Ourversatilecandidates have tried their best, hoping to gain more favor from the students. Aren’t such outgoing and capable junior high school students a good role model for us?
It must be mentioned that the ASB election of Grade 8 was held in Zhongxing Building B1, bringing students a different audiovisual experience. The candidates of eighth grade awed every audience member present with their outstanding performance. They talked about their unforgettable experience at ASB, seriously reflected on the growth they have gained through difficulties, and looked forward to the future with confidence. They made this a brilliant ASB race.
When all the votes were in, they were collected and then counted by student volunteers. With a strong sense of accomplishment in ASB, 7 (9) Linda says that she feels so excited to be part of it and bring joy and laughter to the student community. Let’s wait for the forthcoming announcement!
